Understand your protection before move day.

We believe valuation should be explained clearly up front. Here is the simple version of what basic valuation means, what stronger protection may look like, and why the final selection should be reviewed before your move begins.

What valuation means

Valuation is the level of carrier responsibility selected for your shipment. It is not the same thing as traditional insurance.

Every customer receives a basic valuation level required by law. If you want greater protection, additional options may be available for added cost before the move begins.

Our goal is simple: explain the difference clearly, confirm your selection in writing, and avoid confusion later.

Basic Valuation

Included at no extra charge

Movexus includes basic valuation of $0.60 per pound per article. If an item is lost or damaged while in the mover's custody, liability under this basic level is limited to the item's weight multiplied by $0.60 per pound.

This is the minimum protection level and is often much lower than the actual replacement value of household goods.

Additional Protection

Full value protection may be available

Stronger protection options may be available for an additional charge. Deductible choices may also affect the final protection cost.

Exact protection terms and charges should always be reviewed and confirmed before the move begins. Protection cannot be added after the move has already started.

Important Limits

Owner-packed boxes and certain fragile or brittle items may have limited liability.

Basic valuation often covers far less than the actual replacement cost of household goods.

Valuation choices should be reviewed before move day and confirmed in writing.

For higher-value shipments, separate third-party insurance may still be worth considering.

Best next step

If you have antiques, fragile pieces, designer furniture, artwork, or other high-value items, ask us about protection options before booking. We would rather explain it clearly now than leave anything unclear later.
